My inspiration springs from a practical interest in rural working life and natural history.
I enjoy working in woodcut because of its strong graphic content and inherent cleanliness of line. I aim to capture those fleeting moments of magic that are full of symbolism and, though everyday, go largely unnoticed.
I live and work in East Sussex and exhibit my pictures locally. I am currently working on a couple of other projects; producing a range of handmade tiles using my prints, and also facilitating and teaching workshops through Blackbird Arts.
Prints
Buy from my collection of original editioned prints based on rural Sussex.
This is "Birds Hole Lane" which I first exhibited back in October. The Raw Umber ink takes 4 times longer to dry than the Black that I normally print with - so I want to get a bit of a head start before I make it available on the website.
